Nutrition Counseling for Individuals
We work with clients that are 16 years old and up

Initial Assessment

60 - 75 minutes

We will start to dive into your relationship with food and your body. During the assessment we explore things like your history with food, body image concerns, medical and mental health history, exercise, stress levels, and more. We will also discuss where you are now. By the end we ideally will be able to identify areas you want to focus on together and discuss a big picture plan.

Follow-up Session

30 minutes or 55 minutes

Where the work happens! We will focus on setting goals and introducing education, tools, and strategies to
support you with your goals. We help work through barriers and unpack difficult experiences. What we work on will depend on your needs.

Insurance:

You are responsible for contacting your insurance company prior to your first appointment if you want to check your coverage for outpatient nutrition counseling.

Things to ASK your insurance company:

Does my plan cover medical nutrition therapy (procedure codes 97802 and 97803)?

Do I have a deductible to meet before my sessions are covered?

Do I have a co-pay or co-insurance for these services?

Is Telehealth covered?

Is there a limit on the number of sessions or units covered?

Do I need a referral from my doctor?

Are there specific diagnosis codes that are restricted?
